“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
What if the issue isn't a lack of laborers but a lack of what it means to be laboring? What if the issue is not a lack of those who are called but that we have limited what it means to be called?
Jesus commands His disciples to "Go and make disciples of all nations..." (Matt. 28:19). So it should not be a surprise that the overwhelming emphasis of missions is placed on the sending nature of the Gospel. But, what if Jesus' commission was meant to include, not only, those who are called to be SENT OUT but, also, those who are called to RECEIVE IN?
This is the heart of Gospel Obedience - that the great commission encompasses those we send into other nations as well as those we receive into our nation. We are a not for profit ministry to the refugee and the asylee, providing housing, employment, and community.
What if the issue isn't a lack of laborers but a lack of what it means to be laboring? What if the issue is not a lack of those who are called but that we have limited what it means to be called?
Within the heart of every individual is a beating after more than just the temporary. There is a purpose beyond our self-invented causes and pursuits.
What if there is a seeking after us? That our Creator
